FAQ

UHF (400–480MHz) is better for indoor and urban use — its shorter wavelengths penetrate walls, concrete, and steel more effectively. VHF (136–174MHz) performs better in wide-open outdoor spaces like farmland, highways, and over water. For most businesses — warehouses, hotels, retail, security, construction sites — UHF is the preferred choice. All Sonice portable radios operate on UHF for maximum versatility.

Real-world range depends on terrain, not just wattage. In urban/indoor environments, expect 0.5–2 km. In open outdoor areas, 2–5 km. On hilltop-to-valley line-of-sight, 10+ km is possible. Advertised “35-mile” claims are lab-tested over open water — real conditions matter more. The single biggest factor is antenna height: standing on higher ground can double or triple your effective range.

Yes — as long as they share the same frequency, channel, CTCSS/DCS code, and mode (analog or digital). You can mix Sonice radios with Motorola, Kenwood, Hytera, or any other brand on the same frequency. However, analog and digital radios cannot talk to each other — they must be in the same mode.

Our radios deliver 12–16 hours of typical use (5% transmit, 5% receive, 90% standby). Heavy transmitting reduces this. The SC-718 with its 2600mAh battery provides up to 16 hours talk time and 30+ hours standby. For cold-weather use, keep spare batteries in an inside pocket — lithium-ion performance drops in freezing temperatures. All batteries maintain 80%+ capacity for 12–18 months under normal use.

Sonice Radio is a direct manufacturer with in-house production lines. We handle the entire process — PCB design, SMT assembly, firmware development, injection molding, RF tuning, and quality testing — under one roof. This eliminates middlemen and ensures consistent quality control from component to finished product. Factory visits are welcome by appointment.

We offer end-to-end customization including: custom logo printing on the radio body, branded packaging design, custom startup screens and voice prompts, pre-programmed frequencies to your specifications, custom color combinations, and hardware-level ODM for unique form factors or feature sets. We can also customise firmware for region-specific requirements like frequency bands, power limits, and language localisation.

Off-the-shelf models with logo customization: MOQ 500 units. Full ODM projects with hardware modifications: depending on complexity. We also offer sample orders (1–5 units) so you can evaluate quality, audio performance, and build before committing to a bulk purchase.

Every radio passes through four-stage quality inspection: IQC (incoming components), IPQC (in-process), FQC (final functional), and OQC (outgoing packaging). We use HP network analyzers, RF spectrum analyzers, and signal generators for precision testing. Every unit is tested for RF output power, frequency stability, audio clarity, battery safety, and physical durability before it leaves the factory.
